Daimler Provide Vehicles for the Seventh Asia Europe Meeting
Beijing – The world’s top leaders will be riding in the world’s top luxury car next week in Beijing.
Daimler Northeast Asia Ltd (DNEA) and Mercedes-Benz (China) Ltd. (MBCL) will provide 145 S-Class sedans to European and Asian heads of state attending the Seventh Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) October 24 and 25 in Beijing, as part of their sponsorship of the event.
The Asia-Europe Meeting is one of the most important diplomatic events in China this year. With a theme of ‘Vision and Action – Towards a Win-Win Solution’, the meeting draws the attention and participation of leaders and delegates from 45 Asian and European countries and organizations, which will participate in in-depth discussions on international and Asian-European regional politics, the economy, society and culture.

A handover ceremony was held today at the Fangfeiyuan, Diaoyutai State Guest House with the Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry, DNEA and MBCL, which included Mr. Liu Jieyi, Mr. Wu Hailong from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, joined by Mr. Ulrich Walker and other executives.

ASEM’s members now include China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, the 10 nations of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ASEAN Secretariat, the 27 nations of the European Union, and the European Commission.
